My name is Katie and I am one of the head counselors for the Sapphires this year! I first attended Arrowhead when I was 10 and have been here for 11 summers! During the school year I taught 7th grade social studies at Great Valley Middle School. Next year, I will be teaching 9th and 10th grade world history at Great Valley High School. I am very excited to work with the Sapphires this year!

Hi everyone! My name is Ashley Wald, and I am the counselor for the Diamonds this year. This is my second year as a senior counselor, but this is my 16th summer at Arrowhead! I recently graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Public Health, and I will be attending Temple University in the fall for dental school. I loved going here as a camper and I hope to share this love I have for Arrowhead with all of my campers! I can’t wait to get to know all of the girls, and I am sure we will have a great summer!!

I go by Uncle Evan.  This is my fifth year at Arrowhead, but I’ve been a camper/counselor at several camps throughout my childhood.  The perfect counselor is one that believes they are still just a kid.  I have been teaching in Southwest Philadelphia for over ten years; everything from Kindergarten up to 6th grade.  Both of my children love Arrowhead Day Camp and we are looking forward to another incredible Summer.

My name is Ali Recacho and I am so excited to be back again at Arrowhead this summer. I have a BS/MS from Saint Joseph’s University in Elementary/ Special Education and am a Reading Specialist. I was previously a counselor at Arrowhead until 2004 when I left to teach in Hawai’i. I moved back to Pennsylvania in 2010 and have been teaching special education in the public school system ever since.

This is my second summer back after a twenty-year hiatus and I love everything about Arrowhead including having two of my own campers! During the off season, I love skiing, traveling and reading.

Hi My name is Mike Kazlo 2024 Aunt Ellen award winner.  I Graduated with a major in secondary education from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. Some of my hobbies include golfing, playing ice hockey, and skiing. I have a 2yr old Remington and 7 year old son named Nikolai who is currently in the Cherokees. Going into my 7th year at Arrowhead I’m excited to join the Phillies bunk and make it the best summer for your boys.

Hello Inca Families, I am so excited to be the Incas counselor again at Arrowhead Day Camp! I went to Arrowhead as a camper for five years and I loved it so much, I couldn’t wait to work here. I have two sons both of whom are at Arrowhead: one is a camper in the Senior camp, the other is a CIT.

I grew up in this area and went to University of Delaware, where I got my degree as an elementary teacher. My husband and I got married and moved out to the Seattle area of Washington state in 2004. We moved back to Pennsylvania in 2022, which made me so happy because it means that we can spend our summers at Arrowhead. While we lived in Washington, I taught at three different elementary schools in first through sixth grade. After I had my children, I worked in a Montessori preschool. During the school year, I teach robotics with Rad Robots. In addition to all that, I love to read, play games with my boys, spend time with our dog, and do a wide variety of crafts.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful girls with me! We will have a fabulous summer together.

Hi! My name is Marti Dicus. I am the Shawnees counselor this year. I just finished my 30th year of teaching, and retired. I have been at Arrowhead on and off for several years, as a camper, pool counselor, and bunk counselor. I have 2 sons who also work at Arrowhead, one is a JC, and my oldest is a senior counselor. I’m looking forward to my 7th consecutive, fun summer at Arrowhead.
