Your child’s safety is our #1 concern here at ARROWHEAD. All of our staff members are required to wear an official ARROWHEAD staff shirt while on camp grounds. All visitors must check into the camp office, show id, and wear a visitor badge. No child will be released without written permission signed by a parent of legal guardian. All directors are equipped with walkie talkies as they continuously circulate around the camp grounds.
During the camp season phones will be answered Monday thru Friday from 7 am to 6 pm. Feel free to e-mail anytime to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you need to speak specifically to your child’s counselor please note that all calls will be returned during camp hours (9:30 am to 3:00). If an issue arises during the day, your child’s camp director will contact you. To learn more about our directors, please click here.
ARROWHEAD’S directors will make a judgment call daily regarding the need to go on a Hot Weather Schedule. If the need arises, our schedule will include extra pool time, indoor activities, and shaded athletics only.
For your child’s safety, please make sure your child arrives to camp everyday wearing sneakers (no flip flops or sandals). Parents should also apply sunscreen every morning to their child, ARROWHEAD staff will reapply after each swim. Each camper will be provided with an ARROWHEAD laundry bag to bring their clothes home every Friday. More information and our official camp clothing list can be found by clicking here.
ARROWHEAD will give each camper an individualized swim test during their first day of swim instruction. Campers are placed based on their swim abilities and comfort in the water. Our lifeguards will instruct in groups ranging from 4 – 8 campers spaced out in our 4 heated pools. Your child’s progress will be communicated to you via an ARROWHEAD Swim Card when they graduate to the next swim level. Campers will also participate in Free Swim daily. Campers that are unable to swim due to swimmers ear, injury, etc. will spend that period supervised by their Junior Counselor and engaged in various alternate activities. ARROWHEAD is a “Peanut-Free” camp. We require an individualized camper health form to be completed and submitted by the parent prior to camps start date. All food allergies and dietary concerns will then be communicated with our Mess Hall director, Division Director and Individual Counselor to ensure the safety of your child.
