Uncle Brian Witt has been part of the Arrowhead family for over 30 years. He started here as a camper in 1984 and has been here every year since. Before working at Arrowhead, Brian graduated from Ohio State University with a bachelors in Human Development. Upon graduating, Brian moved back to Pennsylvania where he received his master’s in Elementary education from West Chester University while being a TSS for autistic children. Brian then taught 4th grade in the Avon Grove School district for 8 years before becoming full time at Arrowhead in 2014. Brian has had many responsibilities at Arrowhead including a junior counselor, counselor, pool director, intermediate camp director, senior camp director and now is the head director at Arrowhead Day Camp. He has taken the knowledge given to him by his mother and uncle, Aunt Ellen and Uncle Howie, and continues their passion and enthusiasm every day. You will not meet a more devoted person to this camp and your children. Brian knows every aspect of camping and will go above and beyond for all his campers at Arrowhead.
Scott Olster
Uncle Scott Olster has been a part of camp Arrowhead dating back to 1986 when he was in the Cubs with Uncle Brian Witt (it’s true, check out their picture in the Arrowhead Museum). Scott graduated from University of Connecticut with a bachelor’s in economics, then went onto Cabrini college and received a master’s in education. Currently Uncle Scott teaches mathematics at Harriton High School and at the Mesivta School. He has spent over 20 years as a camper, junior counselor, bus counselor, counselor, and now senior camp director. Scott enjoys bringing out the fun and enjoyment to long time and new campers in senior camp. He is also daddy to current Arrowhead campers Jackson and Gwendolyn who are third generation at Arrowhead since their grand mom and great uncles and aunts went to camp in the 1960s/70s.
Kristen Cheney
Aunt Kristen Cheney received her Bachelor's degree of education from the University of Delaware and her Master's degree from Cabrini College. Currently, Aunt Kristen is a third grade teacher in the West Chester Area School District. She previously taught for 19 years in the Upper Darby School District. Aunt Kristen has spent over 30 summers at Arrowhead, as a camper, junior counselor, senior counselor, pool director, camp office administrator, and director of junior and intermediate camp. She is currently the intermediate camp director. Aunt Kristen is also mom to Cole and Keira who both attend Arrowhead as well.
Carrie Chaitt
Arrowhead is a huge part of who Aunt Carrie Chaitt is, considering she has been here since 1985. Aunt Carrie has had a multitude of responsibilities at Arrowhead Day Camp and is currently the director of junior camp. Aunt Carrie attended Lafayette College for her degree in biology, but decided to go back and get her Master's degree in secondary education at St. Joseph's University. Aunt Carrie has been employed at Upper Darby School District since 2006 as a biology teacher for over 10 years, and she currently works as the 4th and 5th grade science/social studies instructional coach. Aunt Carrie also received her Master's degree in Educational Leadership from St. Joseph's University. She looks forward every year to the start of a new summer at Camp Arrowhead full of memories & friendship!
Steve Houdeshel
Uncle Steve Houdeshel began his employment at Arrowhead Day Camp as the Computer Activity Specialist in 1989. Since then, he has had many responsibilities at the Camp, including being the Head Specialist for Archery, Fishing, and Boating, reprogramming and updating the Camp database program, running the sound board for the Camp Musicals, driving a Van, and most recently, as the Transportation Director. After graduating from Millersville State College with a BS in Elementary Education in 1980, Uncle Steve taught Middle School Students in the Downingtown Area School District until his retirement in June of 2016. For the Houdeshels, Arrowhead Day Camp has been a whole family experience, with all three of their children being Campers and Counselors, Mrs. H. accompanying many of the Musical Productions, and now Grandkids Sawyer and Claire as Campers. Uncle Steve and his son, Chris, have had the opportunity to travel the world as members of the Philadelphia Boy Choir and Men’s Chorale, but they have always returned to Arrowhead Day Camp as their summer home!
